Metro Nashville Students Achieve 9% Math Proficiency Gains with Kiddom
Behind the Numbers: Why it Worked
MNPS achieved widespread gains in high school math achievement by implementing Kiddom Math, an evidence-based curriculum enhanced by intuitive technology and robust educator support. This success illustrates what’s possible with a coherent, well-supported instructional model.

Key Findings
After adopting Kiddom Math, MNPS demonstrated statistically significant gains (p <0.001) in math proficiency across all high school Integrated Math courses. On average, proficiency increased by 9 percent over two years, equivalent to approximately five months of additional learning, based on effect size analysis.
- Integrated Math I: 7% → 21% (+14%, p < 0.001)
- Integrated Math II: 12% → 19% (+7%, p < 0.001)
- Integrated Math III: 18.1% → 24.3% (+6.2%, p < 0.001)
These results highlight the measurable impact of a coherent digital curriculum when paired with strong implementation support.
Metro Nashville at a Glance
MNPS serves ~87,000 students across 159 schools in Nashville and Davidson County. To address persistent gaps in secondary math achievement, the district adopted Kiddom beginning with its Schools of Innovation in 2021–2022, expanding district-wide by 2023–2024. Impact was measured using End-of-Course (EOC) assessment data from pre-adoption (2020–2021) to full implementation (2023–2024).
